Design Engineering Technology Electrical Design Option
This program prepares students for the Industrial, Electrical industry. The design engineer is a highly skilled technician with ability to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills in support of electrical and electronics applications. Students studying on the Electrical Design Option will learn computer-aided design software, drafting and design practices, print reading, electrical circuitry, systems analysis and testing, systems maintenance, and instrument calibration. Design Engineering instruction at the College is offered in fundamental, intermediate, and advanced levels. A graduate of the program will be generally qualified to enter the industry as an entry level draftsperson, detailer, technician or engineer. Graduates are encouraged to continue education toward a professional degree in electrical engineering.
