Design Engineering Technology Architectural Design Option
This program prepares students for the Architectural, Interior Design and Construction industry. The design engineer is a highly skilled technician with an ability to visualize and create detailed prints for the related trades. Students studying on the Architectural Design Option will learn computer-aided design software, drafting and design practices, print reading and learn how to design for residential and commercial industries. Design Engineering instruction at the College is offered in fundamental, intermediate, and advanced levels. A graduate of the program will be generally qualified to enter the industry as an entry level draftsperson, detailer, apprentice designer or architect. Graduates are encouraged to continue education toward a professional degree in architecture.
