WMT 102 : Introduction to Wastewater Treatment Processes
This course is designed to train prospective wastewater treatment plant operators and managers in the
practical aspects of operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plants, with emphasis on the use of safe
practices and procedures. Students will learn how to safely operate and maintain racks, screens, comminutors,
sedimentation tanks, trickling filters, rotating biological contactors, package activated sludge plants, oxidation
ditches, ponds, and chlorination facilities. Students will also learn how to analyze and solve operational
problems and how to perform mathematical calculations relating to wastewater treatment process control.
