Early Childhood Education STC

This STC is designed to be the entry point to the Early Childhood Apprenticeship program, which is a partnership between NWSCC, University of North Alabama, and the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship. Students taking these courses will be working toward an AA in General Studies.  CHD 100 serves as an introduction to the field of early childhood education.  CHD 201 and CHD 203 will transfer to UNA as Area Five electives under an Early Childhood Education MOU between NWSCC and UNA. These courses will equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to work as an auxiliary teacher in an early childhood environment and will fulfil the Alabama State Department of Early Child Education’s First Class Pre-K Program requirements. Students will also receive a CDA credential upon successful completion of these courses.
